Sourcing

Repeat transactions with coconut traders and thousands of local coconut farmers.

Since 1986, Axelum sources fresh coconuts within a 200-kilometer radius from our Medina Plant. These densely-populated coconut areas are mainly composed of CARAGA, Northern Mindanao and Davao regions, which collectively account for around 30% of annual Philippine harvests.

Farming

Coconut farmers are trained in natural farming methods and provided coconut seedlings as replanting material to augment the population of coconut trees in the area.

We regularly deploy monitoring teams on the ground to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.

Nut Buying

We regularly deploy monitoring teams on the ground to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.

Transport

Coconuts are carefully loaded, handled and transported via trucking system to our Medina Plant or from nut buying stations.

Manufacturing

We provide stable jobs for over 5,000 workers mostly belonging to host communities in our Medina Plant, ensuring permanent means of livelihood.

Our business operations utilizes the entire coconut, resulting to nearly zero-waste discharge from raw materials. Coconut shells are used as feedstock to fuel boilers that produce culinary-grade food steam.

Storage

Coconuts are diligently sorted and properly stored under a structured warehousing system.

Nut Opening

Coconuts are drilled, shelled, pared and grated at the nut opening plant.

Processing

Coconut white meat are converted into desiccated coconut, coconut milk powder, sweetened coconut, coconut milk/cream, reduced fat coconut and other variants.

Coconut water is the liquid component found inside the coconut.

Crude coconut oil, coconut cooking oil and copra cake are made from the parings of brown covering of the white meat.

Coconut shells are used as feedstock for industrial boilers that generated culinary-grade steam.

End-to-end manufacturing processes adhere to the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Packaging

Finished products are subjected to metal detector screening and x-ray imaging prior to filling and packaging.

Shipping

Finished goods are loaded into container vans for shipping to domestic and international markets.

Sales and Distribution

Products are distributed to a diverse base of customers through a vast global distribution network.
