Social Responsibility
Since our inception, the principle of corporate social responsibility has been embedded in the way we do business. We exist not only for the sole purpose of financial gains, but more importantly, to act as a beacon of opportunity and hope for others, particularly those belonging to our host communities. Throughout our history, we have been truly blessed to be in a unique position to make a difference in the lives of people.
2022 Social Highlights
Education
We strongly believe that basic education is the gateway to a brighter future. As such, we are committed to provide formal learning opportunities for community members. We grant college scholarships to qualified community students and distribute school materials to elementary pupils. Since 2012, we have produced a total of 116 graduates from our scholarship program, of which 29 are currently employed at Axelum.
Health
Despite the pandemic, we pursued our most significant infrastructure and service project to date, the construction of the San Isidro Polymedic General Hospital (SIPGH) in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. This project is envisioned to render affordable healthcare to more than 350,000 community residents particularly indigent patients. SIPGH will be equipped with 100 beds, extended laboratory services, imaging, hemodialysis, intensive care, charity ward, emergency room and private consultations.
Livelihood
We capitalize on the vast agricultural potential of our area to foster sustainable livelihood. We operate an organic community demonstration farm where local farmers are trained to cultivate a wide variety of fruits and vegetable crops to help augment household income. Moreover, we distribute assorted seedlings, planting equipment and connect farmers to various agriculture experts to explore other farming opportunities. For 2022, there are 51 enrolled farmers in the organic community farm.
Spiritual
We believe in the importance of strengthening one’s faith and moral being through Eucharistic celebrations, religious retreats and daily prayers. These activities promote collective rapport, unity and servant leadership.
